Cue the nostalgia: NES Classic to return to stores in June

The NES Classic Edition will return next month

Following the release of theSNES Classic Nintendo promised to deliver more consoles in 2018 and bring back the NES Classic.

Call it modesty or inaccuracy but Nintendo seems to have a problem properly estimating its chances of success.

Do you already own the NES Classic Mini or do you plan on picking one up this summer?

It will pack the same features and games as it did last time around.

"Fans have shown their unbridled enthusiasm for these Classic Edition systems, so Nintendo is working to put many more of them on store shelves", the company said in a press release past year. Although NES Classic had an MSRP of $59.99, the overwhelming demand made prices soar on the secondary market. Of course, they could always make their own NES Classic Edition with a Raspberry Pi and 3D-printed case. Nintendo will also be shipping out an additional wave of Super NES Classic units. But with SNES Classic Mini reportedly selling somewhere north of 5m units worldwide, we can see why the Japanese giant's finally chose to take the plunge.

The NES Classic, released in November 2016, is a mini-version of the Nintendo Entertainment System, the video game console of some many people's childhoods. The micro-console will include one NES Classic Controller, an HDMI cable, and an AC adapter.

How much is the NES Classic, and where can I buy it?

According to the tweet, we'll also be getting SNES Classics through to the end of the year.
