Donald Trump Responds to Roseanne Cancellation

Ambien Maker Sanofi to Roseanne Barr: No, Our Sleeping Pill Doesn't Cause Racism

It's been a whirlwind 24 hours for Roseanne Barr, whose hit show "Roseanne" was canceled yesterday by ABC after the star's racist tweet that was directed at Valerie Jarrett, a former President Barack Obama aide.

EW said that "Iger apologized and said he would not tolerate those kinds of comments made by Barr, Jarrett said".

"For myself, being an Asian American woman, being a person of color, I have had moments throughout my career where I have let a moment go, and I regretted it".

After apologising to Jarrett and telling her Twitter followers that she planned to take a break from the site, Barr drew further criticism by returning and blaming her racist tweet on the fact she had taken Ambien, a sleeping tablet. That's partly why Barr attacked her. Barr frequently uses her Twitter account to deride Democrats.

Channing Dungey, President of ABC Entertainment, said: 'Roseanne's Twitter statement is abhorrent, repugnant and inconsistent with our values and we have chose to cancel her show'. She wrote, as CNN reports:"guys I did something unforgivable, so do not defend me. While all pharmaceutical treatments have side effects, racism is not a known side effect of any Sanofi medication", wrote the company on Twitter.

"Roseanne's Twitter statement is abhorrent, repugnant and inconsistent with our values, and we have made a decision to cancel her show", wrote Channing Dungey, President of ABC Entertainment.

Sanders, who had kept her answers to other questions relatively succinct, made a lengthy defense of Trump's tweet, saying that "no one's defending what she said" and calling Barr's comment "inappropriate".

Furthermore, Zimmerman said "You would think, her kids, somebody" would be able to rein in her ongoing barrage of tweets. Sara Gilbert, who starred in the original and later starred and executive produced the revival, said Roseanne's views don't represent the cast and crew.

Former White House Advisor, Valerie Jarrett responded Tuesday night saying, "I'm fine".

Roseanne also cited Memorial Day - a USA holiday that recognises the sacrifices made by the country's armed forces - as another contributory factor.

The rebooted "Roseanne", where Barr played a Trump supporter, worked beyond anyone's dreams - logging 25 million viewers for its premiere in March and settling in as television's second most popular comedy after "The Big Bang Theory".
