Mike Budenholzer to be named new head coach of Milwaukee Bucks

REPORT: Bucks hire former Atlanta head coach Mike Budenholzer as new head coach

The Bucks originally fired their head coach, Jason Kidd, on January 22 due to a lack of on the court results. Atlanta lost to the Cleveland Cavaliers in the conference finals that year.

Listen as Steve and Jeffrey Gorman explain why Budenholzer will be a ideal fit for the Milwaukee Bucks and the impact he will have on the Eastern Conference for years to come.

With Budenholzer having joined the Bucks, the Raptors' search for a new coach continues onward. Kidd had been surrounded in scrutiny started with the moment he took over as coach of the Bucks. Critics questioned his on the court tactics and his ability to manage the team. He was sacked in the middle of the year after Bucks' management wasn't happy with the inconsistent start.

Budenholzer and the Atlanta Hawks mutually agreed to part ways just a few weeks ago. Budenholzer is inheriting a very talented roster headlined by "The Greek Freak". Guard Khris Middleton was also reportedly at that breakfast.

If you have any thoughts about the podcast, Budenholzer's appointment, or anything else, let us hear them!

Budenholzer was a longtime assistant to Gregg Popovich in San Antonio before taking the Atlanta job.

After the Hawks' season ended in April, Budenholzer was allowed to interview with the Phoenix Suns and New York Knicks, even though he still had two years left on his contract. And according to David Aldridge of NBA.com, Budenholzer isn't going to be the only fresh face with a suit on for the Bucks. A longtime former Spurs assistant in his own right, Budenholzer was hired by the Hawks in 2013, and within two seasons he produced the franchise's first 60-win season, garnering National Basketball Association coach of the year honors in the process.
