Harry, 33, and Meghan, 36, who tied the knot at Windsor Castle in May, certainly dressed to impress for the outing, with the duchess donning another Givenchy ensemble, which she teamed with a Philip Treacy fascinator. Before his heart attack and subsequent surgery, Thomas made headlines after getting caught staging paparazzi photos of himself.

Meghan Markle's father, Thomas Markle, was reportedly paid for his first TV interview according to Piers Morgan.

The Duchess of Cambridge is noticeably absent from this year's event, as she is now on maternity leave after welcoming her third child, Prince Louis, on 23rd April.

The 73-year-old revealed on Monday's Good Morning Britain how Harry asked him for Meghan's hand in marriage, The Sun reports.

Thomas was originally slated to walk Markle down the aisle, and she ultimately walked most of the way herself before being escorted by her now father-in-law, Prince Charles.

"The first phone calls were, 'Daddy, I have a new boyfriend and I said, 'That's really nice, '" Thomas remembered.

Thomas revealed that he has had "interesting conversations with Harry over the phone,", including hot topics such as Brexit and Donald Trump. "Meghan cried, I'm sure, and they both said: "Take care of yourself, we are really anxious about you".

Meghan Markle announced on May 17 that her father would not be able to attend the wedding in a statement from Kensington Palace, citing his need to "focus on his health".

"The unfortunate thing for me now is I'm a footnote in one of the greatest moments in history rather than the dad walking her down the aisle".

The interview saw the recluse claim that Harry had said he was "open" to Brexit and that people needed to "give Trump a chance".
