Priest Slaps Crying Baby During Baptism Ceremony

The man who appears to be the child's father prised the child out of the priest's grip even as the cleric struggled for possession of the child

SHOCKING footage has emerged showing a priest's violent attempt to calm down a crying baby by slapping it during a baptism in France.

In a weird incident, a baby's relatives were forced to wrestle the child away from a French priest who slapped it during baptism.

The priest loses his temper with the upset child and delivers a hard slap across the face.

The outraged parents remained quiet for a few moments, before the man snatches the baby back from the elderly priest.

Newsweek reported that the priest says, in French, that the child is having a "tantrum" and that water must be poured on his head so he could become a "little Christian". In the video, the priest can be seen making a shape of the cross over the baby's body before he begins to cry.

The woman holding the child begins to pull away from the priest, while a church official attempts to step in and stop the priest from going further. Ohlalalala! I will scream louder than you.

Another wrote, "This never okay!"

Internet users are confused, anxious and appalled at the priest's actions, with one person writing, "That was uncalled for". "No reason. When the parent tries to grab their child from you, you don't refuse to give them up, unless of course the parent is a threat to the child". "If this ever happens to my child best believe there's gonna a lot more then just slapping happening to his face". "I would have gone ballistic if that was any of my kids".
