Woman Calls Police On Black Girl Selling Water; Video Goes Viral

It might be worth calling the cops on a noisy neighbour or what seems to be a public dispute, but when it comes to an eight-year-old girl selling bottles of water, it could be said that dialing 911 might be described as "excessive".

Ettel told The Huffington Post that there was "no racial component to it" and that she "pretended" to call the cops. "Just the fact that she called the police on a child, that's evil, but to call on a child of color, knowing that people have been killing black kids". "She came out and directly demanded to see a permit to sell water from an 8-year-old".

Naturally, when Jordan's mother, Erin Austin, caught wind of what was going down, she got out her phone camera to record the wildly uneccessary badgering of a child.

"It was wrong, and I wish I could take it back". I want to support that little girl.

The girl said of Ettel: "She asked me where is my permit". Ettel says that she contacted the building's security before pretending to call the police.

Austin's cousin, Raje Lee, said on Twitter that Austin was gifted four tickets to Disneyland by a man who heard about the story, USA Today noted.

Since the video went viral, Alison has deleted her social media pages.

Ettel told NBC that her motivations were not racially motivated.

The woman claimed she was upset because she could hear the girl outside her office. Ettel said she's getting online death threats, stating she feels "discriminated against".

She was reportedly selling water to help contribute to a family trip to Disneyland.

The woman filming interjects, "On my property". SFPD later confirmed to ABC7 News they did not receive any calls about anyone selling water. After seeing this video of their CEO, calling the police on an eight-year-old entrepreneur selling water on a hot day, we decided without hesitation that we could no longer patronise her company.

At the time of publishing, the video had more than 660,000 views and #PermitPatty was trending on Twitter. "I tried to be polite, but I was stern".

When she was told about Ettel's regrets about the incident, Austin's response was simple: "She did it to herself". The company says although the Treatwell brand is one of their best-selling products, the cannabis company is cutting ties with Ettel's and donating proceeds from the remaining products. She said she felt "horrible and heart-wrenched" after the incident.

As for Rodgers, her cousin Lee has since showed on social media that she's still out selling water.

Austin denied Ettel was diplomatic in her approach.

Ettel also said that she never called to report Jordan, but rather to inquire about whether what the mother and daughter were doing was legal.
