IHOP to offer 60 cent pancakes for one day only

IHOP on Twitter

Come on, you didn't actually think IHOP really changed its name to IHOb, did you?

The name change sparked a social media furor, even though IHOP appeared to be hedging its bets by saying the new IHOb name was "for the time being". But the effort did not create a significant increase in the company's purchase consideration, which measures the likelihood of consumers eating at a particular restaurant chain. "That's right, IHOP! We'd never turn our back on pancakes (except for that time we faked it to promote our new burgers)", the company said in its Facebook post. "And it worked. Look at us, two silly pancakes talkin' about burgers", they explained of their nearly-one-month marketing stunt.

"We had to make a bold move to get people to be willing to talk about us for something other than breakfast food", Rebelez said in early June. The brand has already changed its name on its website and all social media platforms.

Just as reactions were mixed to IHOP's original name change, there has also been a variety of comments with this switch back, ranging from appreciation to sass.

"The pancakes haven't gone anywhere".

"Just because we have pancakes doesn't mean we can't do anything but pancakes".
