Wedding goes wild as Three Lions plays on dance floor

Football's coming home! England's efforts have 'Three Lions' pushing for No. 1 spot

Even Daniel Baddiel, one of the comedians who helped create the song, has joined in the fun to celebrate England's advancing team.

The song by Baddiel, Skinner and The Lightening Seeds, racked up an incredible 1m on Saturday alone (7 July) - the day England mashed the Swedes.

From the very first match, the country has been gripped by World Cup Fever and with every game played and goal scored, the "It's Coming Home" mentality is becoming a reality.

On the albums chart British synth pop group Years & Years are on course to debut at number one with sophomore release Palo Santo.

That faith has manifested as one enthusiastic refrain: "It's coming home".

Three Lions (Football's Coming Home) was originally written for Euro 96 - the last time England qualified for the semi-finals of a major tournament - and hit the number one spot twice.

Even England's players have got in on the act, with Manchester United attacker Jesse Lingard sharing the contents of his phone conversation with his mother.

He said he was delighted with his own song's success. This time, England are going The Full Monty...

In 2018, right at this moment, "Three Lions" is all-pervasive on the English airwaves, utterly unavoidable at bars and pubs, pumped out virtually on repeat before, during and after English World Cup matches.

'I love football, but I just didn't really want it on my big day.

It's looking like England will go into tomorrow's quarter final against Sweden with the anthem back in the Top 40.

Online streaming service Spotify reports that Three Lions was streamed almost half a million times on England's match against Colombia, and has gone through the roof following the team's Sweden win.

As reported in Metro, Jason said, "I was having dinner with my mum when a work mate rang me, we were talking about football and he said to me that I would never get that tattooed on my bum in a million years".
