Tottenham's Mauricio Pochettino happy with squad despite no signings

Aston Villa ace Jack Grealish could be a Tottenham player by the end of the week

'It is hard to understand for people in football that Tottenham didn't sign or didn't sell players but sometimes in football, you need to behave different'.

He added: "Of course maybe in the mind of everyone they will say, "Oh Tottenham didn't sign", but to sign for the sake of signing?"

Mauricio Pochettino ended last season seemingly hopeful of retaining the bulk of his squad but also keen to bring in some new box office players to light up the club's new stadium.

"I think it's so hard now because it's only four hours until the end and I don't have news now", Pochettino told a news conference. "I need their commitment, 25 players will full commitment but not only [for] one week, two weeks, one month".

'I am happy to keep all the squad together, there were many rumours during the summer about players out, ' he said.

"What the club is doing is showing that it is so courageous because building a new training ground, finishing the (player) lodge this summer is a massive investment". To keep our best players was our objective and goal and we have achieved that - at the moment, we will see what happens in the next 20 days in Europe.

However, former Arsenal star Merson is backing the Gunners to finish outside the top four despite the influx of new talent in the 2018 summer transfer window. Building a stadium that costs almost £1billion - that's is the truth, don't believe when they say £400million. "It's a fearless decision". Harry Kane committed his future to Tottenham before heading to the World Cup and finishing as the top-scorer as England reached the semifinals. "It was hard for everyone, for us included".

Tottenham will move into a new 62,000-seater stadium in September after playing their first "home" game against Fulham at Wembley Stadium where they lodged last season. They need to give their best.

"I am not anxious, I am not sad, I am so happy". If we have all the squad thinking as individuals rather than as a collective game, you can not achieve what you want and can not succeed. "That is the key this season". It's about if you really need them or not and then if you can get your target or not.
