Trump, Mueller near final stages of talks for interview in Russian Federation probe

U.S. President Donald Trump arrives at a Make America Great Again Rally at the Florida State Fairgrounds in Tampa Florida

Another source reportedly said that Trump believes the trial doesn't reflect badly on him but only shows that Manafort was is a "sleaze".

Trump attorneys say both sides have exchanged proposals for conditions for such a Trump interview.

Sessions was an ardent Trump supporter and had met Russia's ambassador to the US Sergei Kislyak during Trump's campaign and later had to recuse himself from the Russian probe according to the US Department of Justice guidelines.

When Trump tweeted Monday that "Attorney General Jeff Sessions should stop this Rigged Witch Hunt right now", some brushed it off as just another one of the president's rants. "Bob Mueller is totally conflicted, and his 17 Angry Democrats that are doing his dirty work are a disgrace to US!"

Mueller, a former Federal Bureau of Investigation director, is investigating whether the Trump campaign aided or abetted an attempt by Russian Federation to sway the 2016 presidential election, or tried to cover up the conspiracy.

White House press secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders scrambled to explain that Trump's tweet Wednesday was "not an order" and the president was not directing his attorney general to do anything.

Trump's legal team had previously offered Mueller written answers to questions related to obstruction of justice. While prosecutors have said they will not present evidence in this trial about possible collusion between Russia and the Trump campaign, they may dig deeper into Manafort's connections with Russian and Ukrainian oligarchs, legal experts have said.

Trump has steadily attacked his attorney general for recusing himself from the Russian Federation probe. They have been prepared to tell Mr. Mueller's office there will be no interview, risking a court fight over a subpoena that could drag into November's midterm elections, but Mr. Trump pushed them to continue negotiating.

In an interview Wednesday, Trump's lawyers said the president was not ordering Sessions to take any specific action with his latest missive.

Trump Jr. told the Senate Judiciary Committee he could not recall whether they spoke before the Trump Tower meeting. "What they're doing is something that is important and we support and I don't think any effort to truncate that or somehow shut it down early is in the public's best interest", said Senator John Thune.

"We continue to see a pervasive messaging campaign by Russian Federation to try to weaken and divide the United States", Director of National Intelligence Dan Coats said.

Although CNN has reported that several members of Mueller's team have donated to Democrats, Russia's interference in the 2016 election has also been the subject of several Republican-led congressional inquiries. Aides say they're working to schedule more political rallies, partly to boost Trump's mood and distract him from the headlines about Russian Federation.

It is quite clear that the president's idea of Sessions ending Mueller's investigation did not go over well with Democrats.

Litman, meanwhile, told anchor Brooke Baldwin that he would construe Trump's tweet as a command.

Emin Agalarov, an Azerbaijan-born pop star, found himself at the center of questions about the Trump campaign's potential ties to Russia when it became public past year that his publicist, Rob Goldstone, had reached out to Donald Trump Jr. about meeting with a Russian lawyer for dirt on Hillary Clinton.
