People missing after boating accident on the Colorado River near Needles

A boat collision near Moabi Regional Park on Saturday evening resulted in 13 injuries and two missing people authorities said

One boater remains missing.

"Several people were pulled from the water by passing boaters", according to MCSO spokeswoman Anita Mortensen.

Divers searched the Colorado River in Arizona on Sunday for four people missing after two boats slammed head-on into each other, flinging all aboard into the water, sinking both vessels and injuring nine people, police said on Sunday.

Emergency services scrambled to the scene, with one person suffering life-threatening injuries airlifted to a Las Vegas hospital.

The Mohave County Sheriff's Office in Kingman, Arizona, said the body of 50-year-old Brian Grabowski of Tulare, California, was found Tuesday, a day after the body of 51-year-old Christine Lewis of Visalia, California, was found in the river along the California-Arizona border.

All 16 passengers, 10 on one boat and six on the other, were either thrown or jumped into the rushing river, which was crowded with holiday weekend boaters.

No one on the boats was wearing a life vest, Mohave County Sheriff Doug Schuster said, adding that use of life vests is not mandatory but is recommended.

Numerous boats were in the water at the park on Saturday, a popular recreational area where the river's depth ranges from shallow to 30 feet.

As of 9:00 pm, multiple agencies are continuing to search for two missing occupants.

"These efforts will continue until all of those who are missing and unaccounted for have been located", Shuster told reporters Sunday.

The cause of the accident was under investigation, Schuster said.

The Mohave and San Bernardino county sheriff's departments are conducting dive and search operations in the area of the crash, which stretches for about 2 miles, officials said. Officials deemed it too unsafe to allow divers in the water after dark but planned to resume their search Sunday morning.
