OnePlus 6T Specs, Price, Release Date Is Official, Here Are The Details

OnePlus 6T live images leak hours before announcement see the phone's front and back sides

There aren't too many surprises given what we already know about the device, but it's a beastly smartphone with value pricing, as is usually the case with OnePlus releases. OnePlus claims they've started testing the technology on the OnePlus 5T a year ago, but they waited for it to be in the best possible shape before putting them into their devices. Further, there's a new Studio Lighting feature developed in collaboration with photographer Kevin Abosch to enhance portraits.

Coming to the specifications of the smartphone, the OnePlus 6T comes with a 6.41-inch Optic AMOLED display at a 19.5:9 aspect ratio for great viewing angles. This makes it Rs 3,000 more expensive than the base variant of the OnePlus 6.

The OnePlus 6T runs on the latest Qualcomm Snapdragon 845, with 6GB and 8GB RAM variants with 128GB and 256GB ROM variants. The first is that Three will be stocking the OnePlus 6T, whether that's here or one of the other countries where the brand operates. The remaining variants also see a price increase to Rs 41,999 for the 8GB / 128GB variant and Rs 45,999 for the 8GB / 256GB option. This the first time OnePlus has ditched the fingerprint sensor on a smartphone.

The OnePlus 6 arrived on the market back in March and boasted a number of incredible features.

The optical in-display fingerprint sensor uses light to illuminate the finger through the screen and authenticate the user as the owner of the phone. The phone also comes with a 16MP front camera, that enables Face Unlock. Unlike the OnePlus 6 which comes with a wide, iPhone X-like notch, the OnePlus 6T gets a tiny waterdrop notch similar to the Oppo F9 Pro and Vivo V11 Pro. The small footprint increases the screen area on each side.

The OnePlus 6T is powered by a 3,700 mAh battery, which provides a 20% increase in battery life compared to OnePlus 6, for a full day of power in half an hour. Another highlight upfront is an in-display fingerprint sensor, which OnePlus calls "Screen Unlock".

However, charging remains the same, with OnePlus sticking to the Dash Charge standard that has been around since the OnePlus 3. Finally, OnePlus 6T buyers get free damage protection for 12 months from Kotak Servify. Photos shot on night mode are said to be brighter, more vivid and have significant noise reduction.

Although the Shenzhen-based manufacture was eager to detail the new improvement for the OnePlus 6, its hardware event was focused on the announcement of its successor. According to OnePlus, a designated team called "Team FSE" (Fast, Smooth, Efficient) has been established for the single goal of improving Android performance and the overall user experience.
