76ers Expect Markelle Fultz to Return and Play Off the Bench

Markelle Fultz

As for those visits, ESPN reported Monday that Fultz would see a specialist in NY on Monday and again mid-week.

Whether Fultz wants a trade or not, his availability was inquired about, as according to Amico Hoops, the Cavaliers spoke to Philadelphia about the 2017 No. 1 draft pick.

A player close to Fultz who chose to remain anonymous told Chris Sheridan of Get More Sports that the top contenders to acquire the former Washington star are the Phoenix Suns and Orlando Magic. McConnell would be taking over a majority of Fultz's minutes as the 76ers backup point guard.

The 76ers, however, still believe Fultz will return and play a role off their bench, according to a report from ESPN, which cites unidentified league sources. The Sixers are trying to win the East and compete for a championship this year, so nobody would blame them for trying to move Fultz in favor of a shooter and some picks. Here are three reasons as to why the Cavaliers should be pursuing a trade to bring Fultz to Cleveland. "For now, however, Fultz is still around the team as if nothing has changed except his playing time".

To that end, the Philadelphia Inquirer reported Sunday that Fultz is no longer in the team's plans.

The reported decision comes on the heels of the Markelle Fultz situation picking up steam. Entering what is now his third season with the Heat, his 3-point percentage has hovered around the 38-percent mark and has been reliable when not injured. He can become a free agent after 2018-19.
