Israeli Airstrike Targets Group of Palestinians in Gaza

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu

Moscow is concerned about the escalation of tensions in the Gaza Strip, Russian Foreign Ministry Spokeswoman Maria Zakharova said at Thursday's briefing. The Israeli military claimed that the boys were involved in planting an explosive device adjacent to the fence.

Hamas will also act on limiting the participants in the marches at a distance of 500 meters far from the border. After Hamas seized control of the Gaza Strip from Fatah/Palestinian Authority in 2007, the Hamas rulers demanded that the PA continue to pay public workers.

Seven Palestinians died in renewed clashes along the border last Friday.

According to two recent opinion surveys conducted by respected pollsters, the people of the Gaza Strip are unhappy with Hamas's policy of confrontation with Israel and would much prefer a cease-fire.

The violence came to an end after Islamic Jihad, the Palestinian militant group that launched the rockets, said it had agreed to an Egyptian-brokered truce.

Meanwhile, the Cabinet of Ministers is meeting to discuss the situation in Gaza as well as Egypt's efforts for a ceasefire between Israel and Hamas.

According to the palestinian Centre for Human rights, they were between the ages of 14 to 15 years.

Ashrawi noted that since March 30, more than 205 Palestinians, including at least 37 children, have been killed in Gaza, and thousands more have been injured by Israeli forces. Israel says it is trying to prevent incursions into its territory.

The Health Ministry said the soldiers killed Mohammad Abdul-Hai Abu Abada, 27, from the al-Shati' refugee camp, in northern Gaza, after shooting him with live fire.

The protests are calling for Palestinians to be allowed to return to the lands they fled during the war surrounding the creation of Israel in 1948 and which are now inside the Jewish state.

Euro-Med described the continued use of excessive force by Israeli forces against Palestinian protesters at the Israel-Gaza fence as "deeply shocking", adding that in the 200 days of protests, Gaza lost 205 residents.
