Kevin Durant's future in question after spat with Warriors team-mate Draymond Green

Video: Draymond Green Reminded That Kevin Durant Will Be A Free Agent During Argument In Warriors' Loss To Clippers

The star forward and teammate Kevin Durant's blow up on the sidelines Monday night when Green refused to pass to the reigning two-time NBA Finals MVP at the end of regulation against the Los Angeles Clippers, a game they would lose in overtime.

On Monday at Staples Center against the LA Clippers, Warriors forwards Draymond Green and Kevin Durant got into a heated argument on the bench, and it carried over to the postgame locker room.

The confrontation occurred after Green pulled down a rebound and dribbled the ball up the court, instead of passing to Durant.

"According to multiple sources, Green then went on to make it clear he's been making plays for years". Green accused Durant of making the whole season about him even though he was going to leave after this season. And Durant has said he doesn't want to be recruited.

"With what was said, there is already no way Durant is coming back", one player said.

Green sat out Tuesday night's win over the visiting Atlanta Hawks for cussing out KD-"conduct detrimental to the team" was the official reason given-but players and coaches tried to paper over the incident.

"But the front office has to have a longer view and probably a little bit of that was to let him know "we've got your back KD". After the situation had settled, it resulted in the Warriors opting to hand down a one-game suspension to Green for his role, meaning he'll miss Tuesday's game. "We protected you from Draymond'".

Durant has won two championships since signing with the Warriors.

Durant's impending free agency heightens the sensitivity of the turmoil.

Some believed prior to this season that it could have been the last season for Durant with the Warriors and with this recent spat with Green, that notion seems to be gaining significant traction.
