Maori ceremony for duke and duchess as royal tour ends

Prince William Duke of Cambridge and Britain's Prince Harry Duke of Sussex host a reception to officially open the 2018 Illegal Wildlife Trade Conference at St James' Palace in London

Harry's grandmother Queen Elizabeth had visited the same site on a tour in 1953.

Before stepping into the beaming sun, the pair were gifted korowai, traditional Maori woven cloaks, by the people of Te Arawa, Meghan's honouring her impending motherhood and the significant of female ancestors.

Meghan Markle has knocked it out the park with her range of stunning outfits during the tour, however it was what she wore today that has caught EVERYONE'S eye.

A video posted on social media showed the Duchess saying "oh my god, how are you?" after spotting her in the crowd.

Prince Harry opened his address in the Te Reo language and ended his speech with a Maori proverb. "That this is an issue that they see of such importance that we need to be debating it in the current environment for New Zealand", she said.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex arrived to Rotorua, a town set on Lake Rotorua, renowned for its geothermal activity and Maori culture, on Wednesday, Australia time.

Meghan and her husband, Prince Harry, also received a raft of gifts during the walkabout, including an All Blacks onesie for their baby, which is due in the northern hemisphere's spring.

But the royal visit also gave Meghan the chance to air some of the issues which are close to her heart: equality for women and the importance of education for girls. Meanwhile, Harry spotted a toddler wandering in front of the barriers and returned him to his parents.

They will wrap up the day with a public walkabout at the Government Gardens.

The volunteer worker was so moved by the encounter, she joked on Twitter that the Prime Minister of New Zealand, Jacinda Ardern, had to comfort her at the event.

"I said to Meghan "try to keep it forward and not too high".
