Frustrated Migrants Breach US-Mexico Border

A migrant greets people while being transferred via a bus to a new shelter in Tijuana Mexico Saturday Dec. 1 2018. Aid workers and humanitarian organizations expressed concerns Thursday about the unsanitary conditions at the sports complex in Tijuana

According to Newsweek, an undisclosed number of immigrants illegally crossed into the country at the border crossing near San Diego, California.

Dramatic images from the Mexican border town of Tijuana showed migrants from the Central American caravan, including many small children crawl underneath the fence and into the United States yesterday.

Fifteen seconds later, the mother and daughter from Honduras were together in the U.S. And soon a U.S. Border Protection agent approached on an all-terrain vehicle to take them away in custody.

This breach follows a similar incident when a group of around 500 migrants attempted to storm the USA border near Tijuana on 2 December and reportedly threw projectiles at the U.S. border patrol, prompting American authorities to use tear gas and rubber bullets against the asylum seekers.

A previous attempt by a larger group of migrants to jump over the border wall was met with tear gas, sending women and children running back to the Mexican side.

Tents are set up in a new shelter on Sunday in an area known as El Barretal in Tijuana, Mexico.

Frustrated with the long wait to apply, with the US processing 100 requests at most each day, some migrants are trying to cross over clandestinely.

Thousands of migrants have been waiting for a chance to apply for asylum.

Rachel's drastic action comes two weeks after a caravan of migrants arrived in Tijuana. Mexican authorities arrested and deported those they considered responsible for compromising the city's commitment to public order.

"We've got criminal organizations profiting off of vulnerable families charging 5,000 to 7,000 per person", said McAleenan.

There are some 5,600 migrants at the Albergue Benito Juarez shelter in Tijuana, according to the local municipal police.

Tijuana Mayor Juan Manuel Gastélum said it is costing the city $25,000 per day to feed and house the 7,000 migrants now in the city.

And, as one news report noted, the migrants are watching to see what we do: fold, or remain strong and keep them out.

And now that the invasion has begun - even if in dribs and drabs - the question is whether President Trump will exercise his constitutional authority to stop it, as he promised, or permit leftist legal subversives and their allied federal judges to usurp his powers.

Officials said the migrants were not forced to move, but food and medical services at the original camp would no longer be available. Last year, more than 26,000 illegal immigrants were arrested in addition to almost 11,000 pounds of marijuana and 3,000 pounds of cocaine that were seized.
