Maurizio Sarri praised Callum Hudson-Odoi after the the 18-year-old marked his first Chelsea start with a goal in a 4-0 rout of 10-man PAOK but remains to be convinced that the academy prospect is ready for Premier League football.

It's the London derby between Chelsea and Fulham.

Barcelona are experiencing a defensive crisis at the moment, with a severely disheartened backline that has not only led to a sparsity of clean sheets but also to speculative interest in Manchester City captain Vincent Kompany as a potential centre-back reinforcement.

Sarri criticised his players' performance versus Tottenham and their slow starts in the three prior matches, against Crystal Palace, BATE Borisov and Everton. His attitude is not a problem for the group, for me in training he's doing very well.

"I think that Hudson-Odoi played very well but the type of match suited his characteristics", Sarri was quoted by Metro UK as saying at post-match.

While some pondered on how hard life at the Bridge has become for the 27-year-old, the prospect of Hudson-Odoi becoming the long-term successor to the Nigeria brings a little respite to Blues downside the Atlantic.

"I play at Stamford Bridge, I'm happy".

"Obviously from January I can sign with whoever I want and probably this will attract many clubs but so far, from what I can say right now, I will stay here until the end of the season".

At youth level, he won two FA Youth Cups and the U-18 Premier League, as well as a World Cup for England at U-17 level.

Or does he deserve more patience after how good he's been for us over the past few years?

Chelsea maintained their ideal record in Europa League with the win at Stamford Bridge and have secured top spot in Group L.

Maurizio Sarri will be looking to snatch all three points against local rivals Fulham as they seek to get back to winning ways after a disappointing loss last weekend.
