Shock Video of 15 Year Old Syrian Student Bullied in British School

Thousands Raised For Injured Syrian Refugee 'Waterboarded' By Bullies

A 16-year-old boy, who is to be charged with assault, appears to say in the footage "I'll drown you".

In a number of videos shared on a fan's Twitter account, Robinson fumed over the sympathy shown to the refugee and his family.

"The incident occurred on 25 October this year and has been subject to thorough investigation since it was reported to us the day after".

Tasnime Akunjee, a solicitor representing the family, told The Guardian Jamal's 14-year-old daughter sister had been bullied by another group of students, with someone forcibly removed her hijab last week.

The local council also responded, saying: "Behaviour like this will not be tolerated".

A viral video shows a white teen attacking a Syrian refugee classmate and "waterboarding" him - and some are condemning the school for not taking action in the month since it was recorded.

It is alleged the refugee and his younger sister, who fled their home in the conflict-shattered city of Homs, have been targeted by bullies since settling in the United Kingdom in 2016.

The attack left the girl, who is yet to be identified, so distressed that she tried to cut her wrists, her family lawyer said.

"I don't feel safe at school". I am working with Kelsey from Go Fund Me (we are in contact via email) to ensure that the money gets to them. "There was no further police action and the matter was referred to the school".

"Not just the school system, there is something not right".

The teenager also said he tried to report the never-ending bullying and racism to local authorities, but he failed to make his voice heard by them.

The boy arrived with his father to talk to a small group of concerned people who had gathered outside his school in Huddersfield, West Yorkshire, on Thursday afternoon. "They think I'm different - different from them", he told ITV News.

Barry Sheerman, the member of parliament for Huddersfield, tweeted the video of the incident and described it as "absolutely shocking", before adding he had been in touch with the boy and his family.

Both were attacked by other students on school premises and the footage of the two incidents ended up online, triggering hundreds of comments and ultimately a police investigation.

Mr Aslam said: "The protest is all about that family and safeguarding them and others out there who might be in a similar situation".

Mohammed Tahir, who set up the crowdfunding page for the bullying victim, said he had been overwhelmed by the support it had received.

Tonight Kirklees Council said alleged incidents at Almondbury Community School are "very serious matters" and that they are fully focused on their work with the police and the school.

The police force added they were aware of rumours circulating on social media about the individuals involved in the incidents and that no reports had been made to West Yorkshire Police to substantiate these claims.
