But that changes with LG's new rollable TV, which the company introduced yesterday at CES 2019 in Las Vegas.

Its Signature OLED TV R is a next-generation telly which can roll itself up into a little box, unfurled when it's time for Eastenders and then put away at the press of a button.

The rollable OLED TV is a game-changer for a variety of reasons.

Defining the next generation of television, the signature OLED TV R gives home television viewers infinite possibilities in designing their flawless viewing space with its innovative rollable display.

2018 tech expo, LG had displayed a prototype of 65-inch OLED roll-up 4K TV. In addition, the retractable screen gives users three different viewing options: Full View, Line View and Zero View. In the Line View, users can choose from features such as Clock, Frame, Mood, Music and Home Dashboard.

The TV runs on LG's webOS which is integrated with Google Assistant.

Last year Samsung released the first 85-inch 8K QLED TV, which goes for a cool $15,000.

Additionally, the Signature's "Zero View" configuration retracts the entire television's display, transforming the Signature OLED TV R into what amounts to a fairly powerful speaker system thanks to a 4.2-channel, 100W, front-firing, Dolby Atmos soundbar built into the device's aluminum and wood body. LG is also including the very latest version of WebOS, something that will include support for Amazon Alexa, with LG also adding in Apple AirPlay 2 and HomeKit integration. Samsung says sales of TVs with screens above 75 inches have more than doubled in the United States over the past year.
