Militant Iran Taunts US on Revolution's 40th Birthday

Iranians mark anniversary of victory day in 1979 revolution

Netanyahu has said in recent weeks that Israel has carried out hundreds of attacks in Syria over the past several years and would ramp up its fight following the planned withdrawal of USA troops from the country.

In Washington, US National Security adviser John Bolton, who in 2017 expressed the hope that Iran's "revolution will not reach its 40th birthday", tweeted that after 40 years, the "Islamic Republic of Iran has failed to fulfil its promises to uphold and safeguard the rights of its citizens".

Since the revolution, Iran has become more divided.

Over the past decade, Iran has frequently test-fired and displayed missiles, sent several short-lived satellites into orbit and in 2013 launched a monkey into space.

The events Monday were the culmination of official celebrations called the "10 Day Dawn" that marks the period between February 1, 1979, and February 11 when Shiite cleric Khomeini returned from exile and ousted the shah's last government. 40 Years of Failure to adjust USA policy to reality.

Iranian President Hassan Rouhani said on Monday that Iran was determined to expand its military power and ballistic missile programme despite mounting pressure from hostile countries to curb Iran's defensive work, state TV reported. "The long-suffering Iranian people deserve a much brighter future", Trump posted on Twitter in both English and Farsi.

This year's anniversary come as tensions are rising with the USA and Iran is grappling with re-imposed US sanctions.

Rouhani also vowed Iran would defeat US sanctions, reimposed after President Donald Trump withdrew from Tehran's nuclear accord with world powers previous year.

Today, as part of the jihad-exporting regime's celebration of the Islamic Revolution, the infamously anti-Semitic and anti-Israel government made a decision to once again casually threaten to attack the Jewish state.

Rouhani also promised that Iran would overcome its economic hardships, worsened by the restored USA sanctions.

In January, President Hassan Rouhani said Iran was facing its worst economic crisis since the Shah was toppled.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu confirmed on Tuesday that Israel had carried out an artillery attack in Syria on Monday night.

"The US should know that we would raze Tel Aviv and Haifa to the ground in the event of a military attack on us", General Yadollah Javani, head of the guard's political bureau, was quoted as saying.

"I don't ignore the threats from the Iranian regime, but I'm also not intimidated by them", Netanyahu said in a Hebrew-language video.

The Shah was the United States' closest ally in the Middle East.
