Actor Jan-Michael Vincent dead at 73

Jan-Michael Vincent (pictured above in 1976's "Baby Blue Marine"), the '80s star best known for his role on TV's hit series "Airwolf", has died.

Vincent died on 10 February, according to his death certificate.

TMZ said no autopsy was performed on Vincent, who was cremated.

Vincent's career started in the late '60s, when he appeared on such TV series as Lassie and Bonanza. One of his first starring roles was in Disney's 1973 movie, "The World's Greatest Athlete".

Vincent also starred in films like The Mechanic (1972), Damnation Alley, Hooper (with Burt Reynolds), and Buffalo '66.

He was reportedly paid $200,000 for each episode.

Born in Denver, Colo. on July 15, 1944, Vincent's career was launched when a talent agent spotted him just as he was finishing a stint in the National Guard, according to IMDb.

Vincent battled alcoholism and drug use throughout his life.

He played the character from 1984 to 1987. In 1996, a drunken Vincent was involved in a violent vehicle crash resulting in a broken neck.

Vincent lived with his third wife Patricia Ann who he married in 1999.

Vincent revealed in a 2014 interview with the National Enquirer that he nearly died in 2012 after contracting an infection.
