Fact-checking Trump's tweets on Lisa Page testimony

Then-FBI official Peter Strzok testifies before House lawmakers in July

Rep. Collins has previously released the transcripts of the congressional testimony of Bruce Ohr and Lisa Page. "Much more to come!"

The DOJ agreed not to look into certain emails on the private servers of Hillary Clinton during its investigation in order to facilitate FBI access to them, released closed-door testimony of former FBI agent Peter Strzok shows.

The House unanimously passed a resolution on Thursday calling for special counsel Robert Mueller's final report to be made public.

"The Justice Department's assessment was that it was both constitutionally vague, so that they did not actually feel that they could permissibly bring that charge", Page told the oversight committee.

Page, who served as a special counsel to former FBI Deputy Director Andrew McCabe, has been criticized by Republicans for exchanging texts with Peter Strzok (a former FBI counterintelligence official) that were critical of Trump. Gregg Re extracts one nugget, however, in the FOX News story "DOJ reached agreement with Clinton lawyers to block Federal Bureau of Investigation access to Clinton Foundation emails, Strzok says".

The Strzok testimony, which is from June 2018, is creating a buzz on social media and appears to offer more insight into the FBI's activities during the 2016 presidential election season. Strzok said he made the counterargument, that if Trump won and people alleged to be involved in nefarious activity were put in national security positions, "we might need to protect America by finding out whether these allegations are accurate or not and making sure that the government, President Trump in that case, was making special - or appropriate decisions". The Department of Justice under President Trump has reportedly launched an investigation into whether the foundation acted as a "pay-to-play" scheme.

During Page's interview with the Judiciary Committee, she essentially confirmed the texts referred to the Russian Federation investigation and said the FBI "knew so little" when the investigation began.
